Planning Ahead
While this tip is almost a cliche at this point, planning ahead is one of the most effective ways to avoid traffic and congestion. More particularly, planning your trip for off-peak hours will almost certainly prevent you from being stuck in traffic. The most common rushes are in the morning and later afternoon/evening. When you plan your trip outside of these times, you are more likely to get to your destination quicker.
Consider Using Apps to Beat Traffic
As GPS and navigation apps have evolved over time, they have come to incorporate features that help you avoid traffic and congestion. Most notably, navigation apps such as Waze and Google Maps detect real-time traffic and suggest alternative routes that you can take. In addition to this, many apps will allow you to plan your journey ahead of time, and even notify you of the best time to leave.
Avoid School Zones & Other Congested Areas
If you want to get to your destination quicker, it’s smart to avoid areas that are highly populated with pedestrians. This includes, but is certainly not limited to, school zones when students are dismissed. Many town centers can also become highly populated.
